Overview
We are looking for a dependable and hard-working R&D Assistant to support daily operations on our research farm.  This is a part-time, hands-on role ideal for someone interested in agriculture, farming, or agricultural research. It’s a great opportunity for students or individuals looking to gain practical experience in farm operations, crop production, and agricultural equipment use.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general farm maintenance, including mowing, trimming, and upkeep of fields, roads, and work areas
  • Assist with planting, watering, weeding, and harvesting crops
  • Operate tractors and other farm equipment
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance, including checking fluids and routine upkeep
  • Assist with minor repairs and support more complex mechanical work
  • Help with fabrication, assembly, or modification of farm equipment as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment in both the field and shop
  • Move materials, supplies, and equipment throughout the farm
  • Assist with loading and unloading deliveries
  • Support general farm operations and agricultural research activities as needed


What We’re Looking For

  • Comfortable working outdoors in heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and staying active throughout the day
  • Experience operating tractors or willingness to learn
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Team-oriented and willing to support a variety of farm and field tasks


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in agriculture, farming, landscaping, construction, or other hands-on outdoor work
  • Experience operating tractors or agricultural equipment
  • Interest in agricultural research, crop production, or farm operations
  • Basic mechanical, welding, or fabrication experience


Schedule & Pay

  • Part-time position (19 hours per week)
  • Flexible schedule based on farm needs
  • Competitive hourly pay based on experience
